Jaipur "The Pink City"
Jaipur is the capital of of Rajastan State. Oftenly it is referred to as the 'Pink City' for the color of many of the buildings in the old walled portion of the city. Jaipur is also the capital of Jaipur District. The district is situated in the eastern part of Rajasthan. It is bound in the north by Sikar and Alwar, in South by Tonk, Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur. Nagaur, Sikar and Ajmer in the west and in east by Bharatpur and Dausa districts. The city has wide streets which were designed to accommodate old time elephant processions. Although it's an ancient city it has a surprisingly modern layout with streets in grids and large 'traffic circles'.
Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh to replace Amber as the capital of the princely state of Jaipur (founded by the Rajputs in the 12th century AD). The Rajputs ruled the land for the longest period, and gave the region the cultural heritage. So it is called the "Land of the Rajputs". They have built those awe-inspiring forts and palaces - the major attractions for an avid tourist.
Jaipur is the hottest Tourist Spot in Rajasthan. The major tourist spots in Rajasthan besides Jaipur include: Udaipur, Chittor, Jaiselmer, Pushkar, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Mount Abu, Bikaner, Mandawa, Dungarpur, Ranakpur and Ranthambore. All these places are well connected with the country by road.

Amber Palace:
Ambar palace is situated in Amber, the former capital of the Kachhwaha Rajputs on a hillside overlooking Maotha lake. Amber is one of the most popular tourist sites in the city.It is a classic fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture, built in red sandstone and white marble.It is among the best hilltop forts in India. Within the stern exteriors that seem to grow out of the rugged hills are mighty gates, temples, huge ornate halls, palaces, pavilions, gardens and even a ramp to take you to the hilltop palace!
Jal Mahal:
It is on the way to Sisodia garden. The rajput style "Water Palace" sits in the center of the Man Sarobar lake. It was built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 A.D for royal duck shooting parties. During winter, a large number of migratory birds arrive at the lake. The red sandstone palace is located 6.5 kms from Jaipur on the road to Amber. A causeway from the main land, leads to the palace.
Albert Museum:
It is erected in the middle of Ram Niwas Garden of Jaipur. It was built in 1876 to mark the visit of Prince of Wales to the city. The building is made of sandstone and marble in Indo- saracenic style. It contains a fine collection of sculptures, paintings, decorative art objects, natural history specimens, an Egyptian mummy and a celebrated Persian Garden Carpet.
Jaigarh Fort:
The Jaigarh Fort on the hills above the Amber Palace complex offers stunning views of the foothills of the Aravalli range, as well as attractions such as immense underground water-storage tanks. This fort of Victory has a museum which displays a collection of weapons and cannons used by the Rajput rulers. There are fine views of the Amber fort.
The are two major rivers Banas and Banganga passing through the Jaipur district.The climate of the district is dry and healthy and is subject to extremities of cold and heat during winter and summer respectively, due to proximity to the Thar Desert. The minimum and maximum temperatures recorded in the district varies from 3 to 49 degrees Celsius. Known as the pink city from the color of its houses, it is a transportation junction and a commercial center.

I was born at johari bazar jaipur, now it is called Baradiya market.at that time there was a ss jain subodh inter college near the Hanuman temple, sanganeri gate.
